The Cologne Bonn Airport is the seventh-largest airport in Germany with over 10 million passengers a year. The airport is the European hub for logistics company UPS. The airport was initially only used for military flights by the German Luftwaffe in WWII. After the war the airport was opened for civilian use and new runways and passenger terminals were constructed. Eindhoven Airport, located just 7 km west of the city, is the main low-cost airport of the Netherlands and the second-largest airport after Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
