Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Australia Resume Deal to Promote Flights, Destinations
National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Australia have signed a partnership agreement aimed at resuming cooperation in promoting the airline's flights to destinations Down Under.
Nina Sulistyowati, director for marketing and information technology at Garuda Indonesia, and Brent Anderson, general manager for Southeast Asia at Tourism Australia, attended the signing ceremony at the airline's offices in Central Jakarta on Friday (03/11).
The agreement is an extension of a previous partnership between the two companies that started in 2014, and it involves Tourism Australia promoting Garuda Indonesia flights to cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Nina expressed hope that the partnership would boost passenger numbers, especially by capturing potential new market segments.
"Australia is one of the fastest growing potential markets for Garuda Indonesia. Both countries receive many tourists from each other," Nina said in a statement.
