SIA ramps up Indonesia flights

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is starting up daily flights to Surabaya this summer, along with extra services to Jakarta and Bali, while its offshoot SilkAir is adding two destinations.

Lee Wen Fen, SIA's acting senior vice president marketing planning, said Singapore Airlines is responding to rising business and leisure demand as the Indonesian economy grows.

"These new flights will provide even more options to our customers for travel to and from Indonesia, as well as for travel beyond Singapore to the many other destinations in our global network," she said.

From July 26, SIA is taking over from its regional wing SilkAir on a daily flight to Surabaya.
