The most dangerous place in the world to be a pilot

A recently-qualified pilot flies a single-engine turboprop plane above the mountains of Indonesia. Below him he can see a propeller plane of the same model, which crashed into one of the tree-covered slopes years ago but has never been cleared away. It is a reminder of the many risks that being a pilot in this part of the world involves.

Others include landing in areas in which local communities are armed and in conflict with the government, and flying over parts of the world in which cannibalism is, allegedly, still practiced.
