AirAsia again named 'best low-cost airline'

MANILA, Philippines "“ AirAsia has again been named "best low-cost airline" by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific.


AirAsia was honored with the Best Low-Cost Airline award for the third consecutive year since the category was introduced in 2012.


The award was given to the airline at the recently held Travel Awards ceremony in Hong Kong.


"œWe are honored to receive this award for the third year running. We would like to thank all our guests and Business Traveller readers for the support and belief in AirAsia. We will continue to do our best to provide the best possible service and value for our guests, as well as enhance our connectivity and network," said AirAsia Group chief executive Tony Fernandes.


"œWe are highly motivated to maintain our leadership position as the world's best low cost airline and will continue to work hard, and continuously innovate to provide affordable and seamless travel experience for all types of travelers," he added.


Fernandes said the budget airline introduced this year its new product Premium Flex, which is "œdesigned to cater to the needs of discerning business travelers, turning arduous business travels into a pleasant experience by providing further convenience and comfort options."


AirAsia's Philippine unit and Zest Air entered a "œstrategic alliance agreement" in March last year and was rebranded as AirAsia Zest.
