Masjid Raya Baiturrahman is the icon of Aceh. This magnificent mosque with 5 domes is located at the centre of Banda Aceh. Other things to see are the tsunami remnants: a PLTD ship and a ship on top of a house (at Lampulo). These ships pushed far inland by the tsunami became a symbol of the tsunami and have a monumental status now.

Because of its location at the top of the island Sumatrao and surrounded by water, Aceh is dominated by water tourism. The most famous of them is Pulau Weh (Weh Island) which is located 32 km north from Banda Aceh. This island is a tourists favorite for its unspoiled beautiful nature. In Weh Island we can both go diving and fishing.
For you who don't really like the water, there's a mall in Aceh named Hermes Palace Mall to satisfy your shopping desires. You can also try some rides at the theme park here, here such as 4D Max Rider, 1000 bola (thousand balls) and many others included in Hermes Happy Land.
Things to eat
Banda Aceh offers various culinary delights like ayam tangkap, alse known as ayam tsunami, made of fried chicken along with various spices and served with spices' leaves. For those who look for really spicy food, you can try gulai kambing and kari (curry), or nasi gurih.
