Lake Kelimutu, also named Three Color Lake, is located at the top of Mount Kelimutu and is inside the National Park Kelimutu. The lake is located at an altitude of 1631 meters above sea level.
The Three Color Lake is in three districts, namely Detsuko District, District and Sub Ndona Wolowaru, all three are under the auspices of the Regency Ende, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
The Three Color Lake is named as one of the wonders of the world.
Mount Kelimutu has three giant craters, each crater has a different color of water: red, green or blue, Even so, the colors are always changing over time. The lake is very rare and is the only lake that has a natural phenomenon that can vary.
The entree fee is very cheap at Rp. 3000 for weekdays and Rp. 5000 for the weekend.
Transport options Kelimutu National Park
From Ende, you can take a public transport or mini bus, heading for Moni (distance about 53km and takes 2 hours at Rp. 14.000 by bus), which is often used as a base for visits.
From Maumere it takes three hours (98km) to get to Moni, busfee is about Rp. 23.000.
At Moni you can get a car or bus to take you to Kaonara close to the lakes.
There you can walk the 2.5 km to the lakes.
