Komodo Island is located at the western end of East Nusa Tenggara province, more precisely between the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara and the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The central government has made the island part of the Komodo National Park since this island is the natural habitat of the Komodo dragons. On the island are still about 2500 dragons. Besides this Komodo Island also has a wealth of diverse flora and fauna such as Sepang wood used by local people as a dye for clothing or the Nitak tree which can be used as a drug and which seeds are like beans and very tasty.
In 2009, the Park was a finalist for the "New Seven Wonders of Nature".
Also, the island has its own unique savannah and the sea around the island is beautiful and very clear. There are many things to do on the island. If you're hobby is hiking this is a very good place for it. You can also go camping or just watch the wildlife.
The water provides some good opportunities for fishing, diving, snorkeling, or just get around by using a canoe. Komodo Island is perfect for those who love environmental tourism.

Going to Komodo island is quite easy by using the ferry from Sape (Sumbawa), followed by a speedboat trip. Or you can also fly nonstop from Bali to Labuan Bajo (Flores) and take a boat from there.
