Proserpine

Proserpine is a town located on the Bruce Highway in the state of Queensland, Australia. The population of the city is called by the name Proserpinian. The city is the administrative and service center for the Whitsunday Shire. Although the city has a range of modern facilities, but there is a unique area called Main Street that serves the hospitality and is able to give reminiscent of past life, especially during the art deco period.

There are several annual festivals or events that you can see in this city, such as the Professional Bull Riders held every September. This event is a show that is filled by the attractions of the professional bull riders. Then there is also Proserpine Show held every June and features various carnivals and fireworks. Harvest Festival and Christmas Fair are also exciting to watch. In Proserpine Historical Museum, you can see a variety of the city's historic collections. While at Cedar Creek Falls, you can feel the coolness of nature and see the spectacular view on the region's waterfalls. However, please note that you are prohibited to swim or bathe in pools of water at the bottom of this waterfall.

You can walk down a beautiful tropical rainforest in Wompoo Walk and Kingfisher Circuit where both are parts of the Whitsunday Great Walk.
