Singapore Zoo (or locally known as Mandai Zoo) is one of the main tourist places Singapore. It is an 28 ha ecological adventure with over 3000 animals in spaces which are constructed to resemble their natural habitat. The Zoo is located at Mandai Lake Road No 80, Singapore, northern part.
Singapore Zoo is made in a large area with the concept of an Open Zoo. The Singapore Zoo has some interesting programs, including taking pictures with animals, performances and an animals feeding schedule. Singapore Zoo is an educational place where you can watch various kinds of animals: currently over 315 species of which 16% are threatened species. At the Zoo there are many places to buy souvenirs and food and various forms of rides: trams, animals, horse carriage and pony rides.
Transport options Singapore Zoo
The Zoo admission price is SGD 18 for adults, and for children (3-12 years) SGD 9. The Zoo is opened every day from 08:30 to 18:00. It is easy to get to the Singapore Zoo by either taxi, bus or train/MRT:
- Taxi. From the city centre will take about 30 minutes at a cost of about 30 Singapore dollars
- Bus. Use the bus 171 to Mandai Road, there get of at the first stop, then change buses to either number 927 or 926.
- Train or MRT. There are several options: you can use the MRT and get off at Ang Mo Kio (NS16) then take bus line 138. Or stop at Choa Chu Kang Station (BP1/NS4) and take bus line 927. Or get off at Station Woodland (NS9) or Marsilling Station (NS8) and continue the journey by bus line 926
- Daily bus operated by BusHub Service Pte Ltd. Every day this bus takes visitors from the pick-up place directly to the Zoo, (SGD 4 for adults and SGD 2 for children).
