Sukhothai is a city located in Thailand. This small city is filled with monasteries and temples. This city was also the capital of Thailand in the 13th century. You will feel peaceful atmosphere in this city for it's also a great place to enjoy the exoticism of sunset. You can just directly come to this city and enjoy those joy for yourself.

Things to see

Visit Sukhothai Historical Park to be able to see unique and historical building. Another place you need to come to is Wat Si Chum where you can find a big Buddha statue. Wat Si Chum itself is still a part of Sukhothai Historical Park. Wat Si Chum was built in the middle of the 14th century. You will be able to see the oldest temple in Thailand, Wat Mahathat.

Things to do

For shopping, you can visit Phitsanulok Night Bazaar. This place is located 52 km away on the southeastern of Sukhothai. You can also come to Phun Hin Rong Kla National Park which is 71 km away on the eastern of Sukhothai. You can just walk around Nao National Park and Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, or even do rafting in this location.

Don't forget to enjoy Thai Ice Tea when you're in Sukhothai. For typical foods, you can try Gai Hor Baytoi (steamed chicken with pandanus leaves), Pia Takrai (pinned fried fish with lemongrass), Tom Yum Thalay (tom yum soup with seafood), Pla Sam Road (dori fish with 3 kinds of sauce), Yam Mamuang (mango salad) and Tord Man Goong (shrimp cake typically from Sukhothai).
