Tacloban

Tacloban is the capital of the province of Leyte, Philippines. It is located in Cancabato Bay or approximately 580 kilometers to the southeast of Manila. The city has a tropical rainforest climate where there are two seasons, dry season and the rainy season, just like Indonesia. Things to see

There are many historic buildings in this city. One of them is The Redona Residence. It's an old building that was built at the turn of the 19th century. This place was formerly the official residence of President Sergio Osmena in 1944. See also Leyte Provincial Capitol. It's an old building that was built in 1907. Another favorite spot is the Tacloban Metropolitan Arena which is also known as the Astrodome. This place is a building often used for watching sporting events and concerts. The Santo Nino Church is considered as the most important religious sites in the province of Leyte by local communities.

There are several beaches you can visit in this city. Among them is the Blue Beach or also known as Dulag Beach. It's called Dulag because this beach is located in the small province of the same name. There is also White Beach located on the southern border of Barangay San Jose. This beach is a popular beach for various sports activities. In addition to diving, swimming, tourists can rent a boat here. Red Beach is the most visited beach by foreign tourists. You can also swim here. As for you who like diving, please visit one of the best dive sites in the Mahaba Beach. It is surrounded by many islands and is often used as a place to practice by professional divers.

Things to eat

Filipino food can always make tongues wagging. Try to taste Chicken Longganiza, a dish consisting of minced chicken meat that has been mixed with typical Filipino spices and then fried and usually served with rice. Another one-watering cuisine is Filipino Escabeche, a kind of sautéed fish that contains sliced peppers that taste a little sweet, sour and spicy mixed into one. Also try the food menu called Chicken Afritada, a popular cuisine in the Philippines which the main ingredient is chicken cooked in a tomato sauce along with carrots, potatoes and peppers as the main vegetable.
