Tahuna

Tahuna is the name of a subdistrict which is also the district capital of Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi. Tahuna subdistrict consists of two parts, namely West Tahuna and East Tahuna that are in the gulf region of Tahuna. Tahuna is not growing region. This area tends to remote and there are only two accesses to this place, through the Port of Tahuna and Naha Airport, the only airport that in Sangihe Islands. Sangihe sea borders with the Philippines. Due to its location that close to Philippines, there are many shops selling goods from Philippines.

Things to see

Although it's not a bustling city but Tahuna possesses attractions that are no less interesting. Most of the tourist attractions here are still beautiful and natural, such as Banua Wuhu, i.e. volcano located in shallow water and unique because it emits bubbles of hot water. Still in the area, there are colonies of very beautiful coral reefs. At the end of January, the surrounding communities will hold ceremony. You can come to witness the ceremony.

In addition to exotic volcanoes, Pananualeng beach could also be an alternative for your tour here. The beach is very beautiful with stretching white sand. Things to eat

One of the famous typical foods of Sangihe is nutmeg-lunkhead with chewy and sweet flavor. Sangihe staple food is sago. Various types of cake made of sago are also available here .
