In Perigi Puteri you can see a bathing place used to be used by princesses in the time of Melayu Riau Kingdom. You can come to Kerkhoff Belanda Cemetery where many Dutches rested in peace there. This cemetery is the proof that there were some Dutches stayed and lived in Tanjung Pinang City. Visiting Penyengat Island, one main destinaton in Kepulauan Riau Province, to see its beautiful panorama is one interesting thing you might wanna do. You can also see the landmark of Penyengat Island, Masjid Raya Sultan Riau. This masjid is quite unique for using eggs to stick all the things instead of cement.

One interesting typical food you can try in this city is Mie Lendir (mocous noodle). This noodle is made of boiled yellow noodle, bean sprout and egg mixed with nut thick-broth. Another one is Gonggong. Gonggong is a kind of sea-snail lived around Riau Islands. This Gonggong is then boiled and enjoyed by dipping it into condiment. This food tastes like boiled clams.
