Yangon

Yangon city or also known as Rangoon is a city located in the south of Myanmar or Burma. The town is situated on the Yangon River which was once the capital of Myanmar before being moved to the city of Naypyidaw. The city has a long rainy season between May and October and the dry season from November to April. There are many buildings of historical value in this town. One of them is the famous Shwedagon Pagoda.

Things to see

Shwedagon Pagoda is the most famous tourist attraction in the city. This pagoda is located in downtown Yangon, and is also known as the Golden Pagoda because it has a high gold-plated pagoda stupa which reaches approximately 98 meters. The tip of the pagoda is also made of 76-carat diamonds and has various collections of objects and the history of Buddhism. In addition, there are also Botatoung Pagoda, Temple Chaukhtatgyi Paya which can be visited for these places are religious place and there is a magnificent Buddha statue in it.

One of the places that can be visited is Kandawgyi Park. This place is a park located in downtown Yangon. Almost all the foods in the city are greasy and most of them use oil from peanut oil, but some are derived from coconut. It is because of the cuisines in this city have been influenced by the cultures of India, China and Thailand. One of the foods that you can taste is the curry duck typically of Myanmar. This curry is made from yellow duck with a sauce prepared with typical spice of Myanmar. Fried Mutton, shredded beef or Bayakyaw Chicken Fried, chicken patties are also worth to taste.
