KA Turangga travels between Bandung (BD) and Surabaya (SGU).
Turangga train is an executive class train serving Bandung (BD) - Surabaya Gubeng (SGU) route and vice versa with a distance of about 699 km and the travel time of about 12 hours. Turangga train was first launched on September 2nd, 1995. At launching time, this train had two classes, business and executive, but on October 11th, 1999 this train was changed into executive class only. Turangga train consists of six to eight executive class carriages, a dining carriage, a generator carriage and a baggage carriage. On January 19th, 2009, Turangga train was changed into Turangga Executive New Image by using a retrofit series of train that has interior and exterior designs that resemble aircraft where there are similar plane windows, closed baggage and comfortable seats. Other facilities available in Turangga train are flat screen televisions, electrical plugs, pillows and blankets so that passengers can rest comfortably. The train’s name is taken from another term of saddler used by kings or nobles in Java where Turangga is a symbol of riding that can run fast in any weather. This train trip numbers are 37 and 38 and serve night travel only. That makes this train called by the name of Turangga Express Night Train. During the trip, Turangga train will stop at these stations: Cipeundeuy, Tasikmalaya, Banjar, Kroya, Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta, Solo Balapan, Madiun, Kertosono, Jombang and Mojokerto.
