Citilink is one of low-cost airline that exists in Indonesian. However, different with other low-cost airlines who tend to ignore ministry and security, Citilink remain to prioritize them all and yet passengers could fly at affordable prices. Citilink is one of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) from the largest airline in Indonesian, Garuda Indonesian. With other words, Citilink airline is one of subsidiary companies of Garuda Indonesian.

Citilink was founded in 2001 with the name PT. Citilink Indonesia. Early operates, Citilink used five units of Fokker 28 planes which previously have been ever worn by Garuda Indonesia. However, Citilink has ever stalled in January 2008. At that moment, Citilink stopped its operation in order to fix and prepare the latest service concept. Citilink time vacuum was not long. In September 2008, Citilink re-flied with  more mature concept.

Citilink continues to develop the concept with commitment to become forefront airline in low cost carrier class. Citilink always improves the quality of its service to passengers by keeping the timeliness as well facility system of payment which could be done through joint ATM link. Citilink also has a slogan Low Fares Everyday asserting that Citilink is low-cost airline yet classy. Now Citilink becomes fresher with white green livery plugged on the fleet. Besides, Citilink also replaces its fleet interior. It seems that Citilink will be aiming for adolescents market segment by hiring Nidji as the brand ambassador.

At this time Citilink operates by using 29 aircrafts which consists from 22 Airbus A320 aircraft and seven Boeing 737 aircraft serving the 70 domestic flight services and sixteen regional flight services in Indonesia. Reportedly, until the year 2015, Citilink will add again a number of new fleet so Citilink will have 50 planes in total and also plan to add route abroad to give service to the passengers. Citilink always tries to provide comfortable and affordable flight experience for the whole society.
