Da Nang

Da Nang city is a port city in Vietnam, located in the midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. The city is the fourth largest economic center in Vietnam after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hai Phong and is about 759 kilometers to the south of Hanoi, or about 960 kilometers to the north of Ho Chi Minh City. This city which has Tropical Monsoon climate is not as crowded as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, but you can still enjoy the beautiful natural scenery as well as a variety of interesting attractions this city offers.

Things to see

There are some famous museums in the city. One is the Cham Museum located in the city center. The museum was built around 1915 and was formally known as Champa Sculpture Museum. You can see many ancient artifacts here. Another attraction that can be visited is the Linh Ung Pagoda located on the edge of Son Thuy mountain cliff or approximately eight kilometers from downtown Da Nang. This pagoda is one of the biggest pagodas in the city of Da Nang. There is a statue of Guan Yin overlooking to the sea. From this place you can see the view of the entire city and its natural beauty.

Things to do

One of the places that can be visited is the Son Tra Peninsula where there are a lot of beaches you can visit to spend time playing water in the region. Among them are the North Coast, South Coast and Buddha Beach. While in Da Nang Marble Mountains you can explore and climb toward one peak to enjoy the natural scenery that is not less interesting. Son Thuy is the highest mountain in the region. Many tourists come to this area to climb Mount Son Thuy. While hunting for souvenirs, you can visit the Han Market located along Tran Phu Street, Bach Dang Street, Hung Vuong Street and Dao Street. The market was officially opened in the 1940s and there are many souvenirs options that you can get here.

Things to eat

You can taste many foods here. One of them is the Canh Chua dishes, a kind of fish soup containing vegetables with typical Vietnamese flavor with a slightly sour taste. While Cha Lua is using beef as the main basic food ingredient cooked with processed spices typically of Vietnam. For snacks you can try the Banh Bao, round dough made from steamed flour contains meat, vegetables, mushrooms and onions.
