Loei

Loei is the capital of the province of Loei, Thailand which is located about 520 kilometers away from Bangkok. This area is covered by mountains such as Mount Phu Kradueng and Phu Ruea. The climate in this region is quite unique and different from other regions in Thailand. When the winter or rain comes, the temperature can down below to zero degrees Celcius, but when summer comes, the temperatures in this region feels hotter than any region in Thailand. Things to see

There are some interesting festivals you can see here, one of which is the Phi Ta Khon Festival, held between March and July each year. The festival is usually held in Dan Sai district. This festival is quite unique and quite impressive. Visit also Chaloem Phra Kiat Public Park, Pa Loeng Yai. This place is beautiful. One of the ideal spot for hikers here is Phu Kradueng National Park. You can climb to the top by conquering the distance of 1,325 meters above sea level first. In the park there are some interesting places points that can be visited, one of which is the Pha Nok Aen where you can enjoy the sunrise views from here. Namtok Tat Hong, a 40 meter high waterfall. Not far from the waterfall, visit also Wang Phong Wang Yiam which is the point of rafting, a suitable place for you who love rafting. To buy souvenirs you can visit Ban Kang Pla, a place where typical local fabric Loei is sold.
