Things to eat
One of typical snack of Meulaboh is kara cake, made of rice flour mixed with water, salt and sugar and then fried. This cake is so delicious. Another one is pisang sale of Meulaboh. Gulee asam ikan kerling made of kerling fish with broth of a mixture of starfruit, lime leaves and sere. What a tasty food to try. Sambai rebung (bamboo sprout) is another typical food you can find in Meulaboh. This food is made of boiled bamboo sprout mixed with roasted coconut and lime. There's also sambai on peugaga which is the main menu for Meulaboh people Ramadhan (fasting month). The main ingredient of this food are daun pegagan (gotu kola leaves), bunga kala and some more. It's believed that this food is the proof os someone do fasting
