A blue hole is a large underwater cavern or sinkhole. Usually located under the sea or low lying coastal areas. These blue holes are formed by the erosion of carbonate rocks. When viewed from above, it's like a blue circle with a dark color. It looks beautiful I think. So, these are the three deepest blue holes in the world you need to know off.

The Great Blue Hole of Belize

The Great Blue Hole of Belize is one of the most famous blue holes in the world. It's located in Belize Beach, a beach in a small country on the east coast of Central America. This place is a world class destination for recreational scuba divers as well.

This hole has a circular shape and it's about 300 meters wide and 125 meters deep. Originally, The Great Blue Hole of Belize iwas formed about 150.000 until 15.000 years ago.

Dean's Blue Hole

Dean's Blue Hole plunges more than 200 meters deep and it is a favourite place for divers. It's located in a bay of Clarence Town, Long Island, Bahamas. Dean's Blue Hole were formed by deeper groundwater gradually dissolving the limestone, until the ceiling of these voids collapsed. Subsequently the sea filled the hole with water.

Uniquely, the inside of this hole is wider than its surface, it's like a big cave. And you need to know that the underwater scenery at the bottom of the hole is very impressive. But only certified and experienced divers are allowed to explore this cave.

Blue Hole of Dahab

This one is located on the coast of the Red Sea just a few kilometers from Dahab, Egypt. It is about 130 meters deep. The Blue Hole of Dahab is one of most famous blue holes in the world. Unfortunately, several divers died here when they were trying to find a tunnel through the rock known as The Arc. The Arc connects with the open sea at depth of about 52 meters.
