Hai Phong

Hai Phong is a coastal city in northern Vietnam. It is located approximately 120 kilometers from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The city is very densely populated making it the third most populous city in Vietnam. In the spring in this city there is a lot of traditional parties held, while in the summer many tourists visit resorts like Beaches Do Son, Cat Ba Pearl Island, Bay of Bai Tu Long and Ha Long Bay. This city offers cultural and interesting attractions that can be visited.

If you came to this town in the summer then you can see the traditional party of buffalo fight organized by local communities in the surrounding area of Do Son. Hai Phong Opera House is an old French-style theater located in the center of Hai Phong. Hai Phong Opera House in the local language is known as Nha Hat Lon Hai Phong. In this building you can see some theater, dance, music and other performances. While in the Do Son peninsula you can enjoy the beautiful and romantic natural scenery.

Do Son beach is one of the attractions usually visited by tourists. This beach is located about 22 kilometers on the southeast of the center of Hai Phong City. This place offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature and its mild climate. Here you can play as much water and capture the sunset exoticism in camera. Meanwhile, if you visit Cat Ba Pearl Island, you will get a natural atmosphere to the forest and the beautiful sea. On this island you can also swim or dive. For those who want to shop to buy various souvenirs typical of this city, you can visit Hang Market located in the center of Hai Phong.

Dishes in each region in Vietnam have different characteristics that vary both the cooking and the use of ingredients but basically serve rice with additional soy sauce and fish sauce. One popular food in this city is Nem Cua Be, a kind of spring rolls which contains slices of boiled crab meat with fresh vegetables in it. Banh Xeo is typical crepe of Vietnam. This food is almost the same as eggs crepe from Indonesia to the content of bean sprouts, carrots, scallions and egg. There's also the Cha Lua that contain processed beef with typical spices of Vietnam.
