Pattaya Airport, or as it is officially named U-Tupau Airport, was originally a military airfield. The airport now also handles commercial passenger flights but only to a few domestic destinations. If you destination is Pattaya it may be cheaper to use Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport which is located 110 km north of Pattaya.
U-Tapao International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from U-Tapao International Airport, most of these are operated by Bangkok Airways. Many people take a flight to Phuket and transfer to another flight there.
Pattaya Airport is located 30 km south of Pattaya (Thailand's most popular beach) near the main Sattahip - Chanthaburi Highway.
Minibuses can take you direct to your destination in Pattaya (250 baht, 30 minutes) or you can take a songthaew for 20 baht.
