Although the airport is named Broome International Airport the airport in fact only handels domestic flights with destinations like Perth, Brisbane and Darwin. Qantas, Virgin Australia Regional Airline, Airnorth and Skippers Aviation all have scheduled flights to and from Broome Airport. The airport is also sometimes called the Gateway to the Kimberly and with over 400.000 passengers a year it is ranked 20th on the most busiest airport in Australia list.
