The Alor Island Airport, or also known as Mali Airport, is a small domestic airport serving Kalabahi, the main town in the Alor Archipelago.
Alor Island Airport is located 13 km northeast of Kalabahi, in the northeast corner of Alor-kecil Island.
Some form of public transportation at the airport is available but it is not easy. There are no busses to Kalabahi, so you need to take a chartered car or motorcycle taxi (ojek) which can be bit difficult to find after a plane just landed. If you are lucky to find an ojek, you can negotiate the price for downtown Kalabahi or directly to your hotel for a price of about Rp 20,000 to Rp 30,000 per person. The chartered car will cost you Rp 50,000 to Rp 100,000 per person.
When in Kalabahi you can use the oto (a modified truck serving as public transportation), but considering the price and convenience it is best to use the motorcycle taxi (ojek) to get around or visit a village or town. An ojek would cost Rp 10,000 to Rp 30,000, depending the distance.
