How many runways and passenger terminals does Barcelona–El Prat Airport have?

The airport has three runways and two terminals. The old Terminal 2, with a part dating back to 1968, is now the de facto low-cost terminal, although not airlines here are low-cost airlines. EasyJet uses section 2C while 2B is used by Ryanair and Transavia.
Terminal 1 is the fifth largest terminal in the world and capable of wide-body aircraft like the B747 and A380. This terminal opened in 2009 and handles most of the air traffic. The terminal is split into five modules: Module A is for flights to Madrid; Module B for Schengen flights; Module C for Air Nostrum flights; Module D for Non-Schengen European flights; and Module E for all other international traffic. The terminals are 7 km apart and a free Shuttle Bus (departs every 6 minutes, travel time 12 minutes) travels between the terminals.

How to get from the airport to Barcelona city centre by public transport?

You can take a bus or train to get into the city.
Express bus: Aerobus is a express shuttle bus connecting the airport with Barcelona city center. Aerobus Line A1 departs and arrives at Terminal 1, while Line A2 departs and arrives at Terminal 2. Departures are about every ten minutes and the ride takes at least an half hour; one-way ticket cost € 6 available at the vending machine.
Train: The airport train station is located next to Terminal 2 section B. The RENFE R2 Nord train line connects the airport to Barcelona city center and its suburbs. One-way ticket is € 5. If you arrive at Terminal 1 though, you would need to take the shuttle bus and walk through Terminal 2 to get to the train station, making the A1 bus to the city a much quicker option.
