The Gewayantana Airport is a small airport serving Larantuka on the eastern tip of Flores. The airport has very limited facilities and can handle only propeller planes like the Cassa, Twin Otter and Fokker 27 and Fokker 28.
Gewayantana Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Gewayantana Airport, most of these are operated by Wings Air. Many people take a flight to Kupang and transfer to another flight there.
Gewayantana Airport is located about 10 km north of Larantuka Harbour, about 20 minutes by car.
A public bus or shuttle is not available. You can charter a car to get into town or you can take an ojek (motorcycle taxi) or taxi.
