The small Sunshine Coast Airport is the gateway to the white sand beaches of the Sunshine coast. The airport is mostly a domestic airport and has only connections to Sydney and Melbourne. Recently though Air New Zealand has started twice-weekly international flights between Auckland and Sunshine Coast Airport.
The airport was formerly named Maroochydore Airport.
Although the airport is small, the facilities are pretty decent with ATMs, a cafe, several shops and car rental service.
Sunshine Coast Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Sunshine Coast Airport, most of these are operated by JetStar Airways. Many people take a flight to Sydney and transfer to another flight there.
