Phu Quoc International Airport is a new airport on the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, just 20 km south of Cambodia. This airport replaces the former Duong Dong Airport which was closed when Phu Quoc International Airport opened in December 2012.
Most flights from Phu Quoc International Airport are to Ho Chi Minh City and to Bangkok but there are many more flights to other destinations as well, most of them by VietJet Air. Every day there are flights to 6 destinations from Phu Quoc International Airport. Here are the most popular destinations:
Phu Quoc International Airport has one runway with a length of 3000 meters and one single terminal for both international and domestic flights. The terminal has airconditioning, free wifi, shops and restaurants (including a Burger King).
The airport is located quite central in the island, a bit to the south, about 10 km south of the main town of Duong Dong.
There is no public transport but taxis are cheap. Expect to pay about 200.000 to 300.000 to one of the popular beaches. Motorcycle taxis are available as well. A ride to the popular Long Beach should cost no more than VND 15.000.
At the former airport most hotels would offer a free pick-up but it seems now the airport has moved further away most hotels has stopped with this service, but you can try.
