Canberra International Airport serves Canberra, the capital of Australia. With well over 3 million passengers a year the airport was the eigth busiest airport of Australia. A recent redevelopment project saw the demolishion of the old terminal building and a construction and opening in 2013 of a brand new terminal.
Canberra International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Canberra International Airport, most of these are operated by Qantas. Many people take a flight to Melbourne and transfer to another flight there.
Car rental and taxis are of course available at this airport. But you can also get on a bus. Several local bus services stop at the nearby Brindabella Business Park which is just a five minute walk away. Two direct bus services operate from the airport: the Airport Express with daytime minibusses to Canberra and coach services to the Snowy Mountains. Please be aware that the roads around the airport are heavily congested so you need to take into account extra travel time especially during rush hours.
