Ozamiz - Labo Airport (OZC)

Ozamiz

Labo Airport, also known as Ozamiz City Airport and Benigno S. Aquino Airport, is a community airport serving Ozamiz and the surrounding province of Misamis Occidental. The aiport is medium-sized with a few hundred thousand passengers a year.
The airport was formarly known as Misamis Airfield before World War II. In 1948 the name was changed into Ozamiz Airport with the first flight by Philippine Airlines. In 1998 the airport had to close because all airlines started using jet aircraft and the runway was not capable of handling these bigger airplanes. After a runway upgrade the airport was reopened in July 2007. The upgrades to the terminal building have greatly improved the facilities.
Labo Airport is one of only 14 airports in the Philippines to handle night flights to ease congestion at Manila Airport.
