Batik Air is a full service airline and subsidiary of Lion Air. The maiden flight was May 3, 2013 on the route Jakarta to Manado (Sulawesi). Batik Air uses Boeing 737-900ER aircraft and new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Batik Air used the full-service concept to compete with the only other full-service carrier in Indonesia: Garuda. For people having flown before with Lion you will notice that inside the cabin the interior is not so different from an Lion Air aircraft. The main difference is there are fewer seats and they are divided into two classes. Batik Air provides larger leg space, increased seat recline, free snacks and drinks and on demand audio-video facilities at each seat with Hollywood, Bollywood , Asian and local movies. Unfortunately you are not allowed to use your own headset but you should buy one for Rp . 25.000.
Batik Air flies to over 64 destinations. Most Batik Air flights are for destinations in Indonesia but Batik Air has international flights to several other countries as well, like for example Australia and Malaysia. From its main base in Jakarta 177 flights depart every week. Many people who look for Batik Air tickets look for flights to Denpasar Bali and Surabaya.
