Jet Airways is the second largest Indian airline after low-cost carrier IndiGo with 52 destinations in India and 21 international destinations. Jet Airways has a fleet of over 100 aircraft both Boeing and Airbus jets and for smaller regional airport Jet Airways uses ATR propeller aircraft.
Jet Airways started operating in 1995 after Air India lost the monopoly on scheduled flights for the domestic Indian market. With the takeover of competitor Air Sahara in 2007 Jet Airways made a growth spurt. Air Sahara was first rebranded as JetLite, a kind of low-cost airline but Jet Airways decided later to fully integrate JetLite into Jet Airways and start a new low-cost carrier: JetKonnect. Together, Jet Airways and JetKonnect have a market share of around 22% in India.
Jet Airways is a full-service airline and provides inflight-entertainment, free checked luggage and meals and drinks on board. Also Jet Airways offers Economy, Business and First Class seats and has Lounges at several airports.
