Some Passengers Rights for Delayed Flight

Maybe some of you have experienced delays when traveling by plane. Delay is very annoying. Your time is usually wasted by this case. In addition to loss of time, you also might lose some money for it. But maybe only a few of you who know that there are rights for passengers for delayed flight. There is some compensation must be given by the airline to the passengers. All of it is set in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 25 of 2008. Here are some of rights for passengers for delayed flight:

Delay between 30-90 minutes

If the aircraft has flight delay for 30-90 minutes, the airline must provide snacks and beverages for the passengers.

Delay between 90-180 minutes

If the aircraft has flight delay for 90-180 minutes, the passengers are entitled to snacks, drinks, lunch or dinner as well as the right to request transfer to the next flight of the same airline or other. Passengers also have the right to move to a different flight schedule.

Delay more than 180 minutes

If the plane is experiencing delays for more than 180 minutes, the passengers are entitled to drinks, snacks, lunch and dinner the night and have a right to move on to the next flight or another airline. However, if the transition cannot be done, the passengers are entitled to accommodation facilities to be transported on the next day which of course it is the responsibility of the airline to provide it. This also applies to the cancellation of flights from the airline.

If there is more than 180 minutes delay or cancellation of flights by the airline but the passengers refused to switch to another flight with the same airline or another airline then the airline must return the ticket money paid by the passenger. However, the airline is allowed to take another action if the airline has other policies that compensate better than these provisions in order to improve the service quality for passengers.
