Hamilton Airport is located about 12 km south of the city of Hamilton, Waikato Region, New Zealand. The airport is with close to 400.000 passengers a year in the top ten of busiest airports in New Zealand. The terminal was expanded in 2007 and includes the Velutto Cafe & Bar and The Store which sells magazines, books, gifts and souvenirs. There are advanced plans to extend the runway to be able to start Asian regional flights.
At Hamilton Airport are several options for getting into the city. Car rental agencies can be found on the ground floor of the terminal. Door-to-door shuttle services and taxis are available outside the terminal, in front of the car park. Please be aware that it's best to book taxi in advance if you arrive late at night on Friday or Saturday as taxis may be scarce.
