The Melbourne Airport or also known as Tullamarine Airport is one of four airports serving the Melbourne Metropolitan area. Of these four it is the only international airport and it is also the second busiest airport in Australia. Melbourne Airport is well connected to outside destinations in Asia, Europe and America as well to over 30 domestic destinations.
The airport is capable of receiving the Airbus A380 SuperJumbo which is used by several airlines flying to Melbourne (Singapore Airlines for flights to Singapore and Emirates for flights to Dubai).
The airport has four different terminals all next to each other. Terminal 1 is for the domestic operations of the Qantas airline group (Qantas, Qantaslink and Jetstar). Terminal 2 is the international terminal used for all international flights of all airlines. Virgin Australia and Regional Express Airlines fly from Terminal 3 (domestic only) and Terminal 4 is the budget terminal used by Tiger Airways Australia, also only for domestic flights. An expansion of Terminal 4 is currently underway. Upon completion Jetstar and some other low-cost airlines will probably move to Terminal 4 as well.
The Melbourne Airport is located 23 km north of the city center.
The Skybus Shuttle is the easiest option, taking 20 minutes to reach the Southern Cross station in the Melbourne business district with excellent links to the rest of the city by local train, trams, busses and interstate trains. The Skybus operates 24 hours a day for A$17 oneway.
The airport is also connected to the public bus system by SmartBus line 901 which will take you to the Broadmeadows train station for $5.80.

Melbourne Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Melbourne Airport, most of these are operated by Virgin Australia. Many people take a flight to Sydney and transfer to another flight there.
