Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) is the principal airport serving the province of West Sumatra on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. The new airport replaced the old Tabing Airport which is now used as military base. Minangkabau Airport is the main gateway to West Sumatra, with frequent flights to destinations throughout Sumatra and Java.

Minangkabau Airport is located about 23 km north-west of Padang, in Ketaping, Padang Pariaman regency, on the Bukittinggi road.
Although taxi's are more comfortable it is a lot cheaper to take a Damri bus for Rp 23.500 per person. Its route passes by the major hotels in Padang. At the airport just tell the guy the name of the street you are heading to and the will put you on the correct bus.
Airport taxis charge Rp 80.000 - Rp 100.000 to get into town, depending the taxi company and destination.
