Bacolod-Silay International Airport serves Negros Occidental Province and its capital city of Bacolod. This new airport replaced the old Bacolod City Domestic Airport in 2007. Although it is designated an international airport there are currently no international flights to Bacolod.
Bacolod Silay Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Bacolod Silay Airport, most of these are operated by PAL Express. Many people take a flight to Manila and transfer to another flight there.
This airport is designed to handle more than one million passengers annually and has all the modern facilities. The main passenger terminal has three floors with check-in counters on the ground floor, the departure area on the first floor and a business class lounge on the second floor.
Bacolod-Silay International Airport is located 15 km northeast of the city.
At Bacolod-Silay International Airport are shared Minivans which drive between several destinations in Bacolod and the airport. One-way fare is PHP 100 to 150 depending your destination. If you are with 3 or more persons it is worthwhile to take a taxi.
Taxis are available outside the arrival hall and operate with a fixed price: they charge PHP 500 for a destination in central Bacolod.
