Zamboanga International Airport serves Zamboanga city and is the third busiest airport in Mindanao, after the airport Davao and Cagayan de Oro Airport, with approximately one million passengers a year.
The airport is still categorized as International, a leftover from the time there were regular commercial flights to nearby destinations in Malaysia, like Kota Kinabalu, Labuan and Sandakan. Currently has Zamboanga Airport offers only domestic flights to Cebu, Davao, Manila and other cities.
Zamboanga International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Zamboanga International Airport, most of these are operated by Cebu Pacific Air. Many people take a flight to Manila and transfer to another flight there.
Zamboanga Airport is situated just 2 kilometers to the northwest from downtown Zamboanga.
Outside the terminal you can either take a taxi, jeepney or tricycle to get to your destination. Use the "Canelar" jeepney to get to the city center at a cost of PHP 20. If you prefer a tricycle, the fare is usually between PHP 20 and PHP 50.
Taxis from the airport to the city center are fixed at a rate of PHP 200.
