Eindhoven Airport was founded as a grass strip in 1932 and was expanded by the Germans during the Second World War. Also after the War the Airport continued its military use and was made available for civilian use only in 1984. Aalborg Airport is located near the village of Norresundby, Northern Denmark about 7 km northwest of the city of Aalburg. Aalburg Airport is the third largest airport in Denmark serving over one million passengers per year.
Aalburg Airport was opened in 1938 as the second national airport, after Copenhagen. Just a few years later, during World War II, the airport was occupied and used as a military airfield for the Luftwaffe. After the war the airport was transformed to civilian use again and saw a slow and steady growth. In 2001 the current terminal building was build and enlarged in later years.
