The Pattimura airport was named after Pattimura, an Indonesian national hero who fought against the Dutch in 1816. Ambon Pattimura airport is the regional air hub with daily connections to Jakarta via Surabaya, Makassar, Manado and limited connections to Papua.
The Pattimura Airport has one runway and one small terminal but which has all necessary facilities like ATM, free wifi, restaurants and few shops.
Ambon's Pattimura Airport is located 9km west of the city across the sea.
Damri operates an airport bus to the city (Rp. 35.000). Departures are 4 times a day only though.
You can also walk to the road and take a bemo to Poka Ferry (Rp. 3500), there get a ferry to Galala (Rp. 1400). At Galala are bemo's waiting to take you to Ambon city itself. Travel time this way would be more or less an hour as well.
Taxi's are outside the terminal and a ride to Ambon would take almost an hour with a fare of around Rp. 200.000.

Pattimura Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Pattimura Airport, most of these are operated by Lion Air. Many people take a flight to Makassar and transfer to another flight there.
