The Mactan-Cebu International Airport serves the city of Cebu and Cebu Province in the Visayas region in the Philippines. It is the second largest airport in the Philippines handling over five million passengers a year, many of them international passengers as Cebu Airport is the second gateway into the country after Manila International Airport.
Travelers often prefer entering the Philippines through Cebu instead of Manila as this is a more modern, convenient and less congested airport and is well connected to popular destinations within the Philippines by air, boat and bus.
Most flights from Mactan-Cebu International Airport are to Manila and to Davao but there are many more flights to other destinations as well, most of them by PAL Express. Every day there are flights to 20 destinations from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Here are the most popular destinations:
The airport has one terminal for both domestic and international flights. All modern facilities like duty-free and souvenir shops, restaurants, money exchange and car rental are available at Mactan-Cebu Airport.
A new terminal is being constructed which will open in 2018.
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport is located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, just before the coast of Cebu City, about 8 km east of central Cebu.
Since 2016 the MyBus city bus connects the airport to Cebu. Mybus line #4 departs from the arrival area at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport to SM Cebu (going to the airport from SM Cebu the bus departs at the back of Radisson Blu Hotel).
One-way fare is PHP 25 but you need the MyBus card which sells at P200 with a load of P100. You can use this card on any of the 5 MyBus lines in Cebu. The bus departs from the airport every 30 minutes between 6am and 8pm.
The better hotels have a free pickup and delivery service.
A taxi into Cebu City will take about a half to one hour and would cost around PHP 200 to 300. Be prepared though, the road from the airport to the city is heavily congested with traffic moving at a crawl at best.
