Phu Bai International Airport is a small airport serving the old Royal city of Hue in central Vietnam.
The airport was originally used as an military airbase by the French and later the Americans but was transferred to civilian use in 1975. There are not many connections from Phu Bai Airport and you may want to look at the Da Nang Airport as well, which is just 2 hours away by car.
Phu Bai International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Phu Bai International Airport, most of these are operated by Vietnam Airlines. Many people take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to another flight there.
Phu Bai Airport is located about 15 km to the southeast of Hue, just of the main road to Da Nang.
There is an airport bus which runs between Phu Bai Airport and Hue city center. You can buy a ticket at the ticket booth in the arrivals hall. One-way ticket is VND 50.000. The bus can drop you at the larger hotels or at Hanoi Street.
A taxi from Phu Bai Airport to Hue city center would take about 30 minutes and costs something like VND 180.000.
