Silkair is a regional light-premium airline based in Singapore and wholly owned by Singapore Airlines. It flies to over 40 destinations in Southeast Asia, China and Australia with an Airbus only fleet of A319-100 and A320-200 of 22 aircraft.
The light-premium service lies between the full service carriers like its parent Singapore Airlines and low-cost, no frills airlines like Airasia or Tiger. It means in effect they have a business class on its airplanes but not a first class. In economy class there is free inflight entertainment and free food and drinks available.
