You can see and experience the variety of a traditional fishing village life in Kampung Jepak while at Tumbina garden you can see various collections of animals and beautiful natural scenery. Kuan Ying Tong Temple is the only Chinese temple in Bintulu which has some impressive architecture.
Bintulu has several interesting festivals held each year like the Bintulu Regatta, An Evening in Bintulu and Borneo International Kite Festival.
Things to do
Tanjung Batu Beach is an ideal spot to relax, jog or stroll to enjoy the charming beauty of the coast. You can go fishing in Kemena River estuary, Tubu River, Tutau or Jelalong.
Bintulu has several good places for shopping. For clothes and electronics you can head out to major shopping center named Medan Jaya. Looking for more traditional stuff or some good food you can visit the Main Market or the Bintulu Night Market.
Things to eat
Belacan (shrimp or fish paste condiment) and cincaluk are shrimp-based typical foods you can find in Bintulu. Both types of local products can be processed into various dishes such as belacan condiment and kale belacan. You can also find canai bread, mixed rice and siew pau which are other typical foods of Bintulu.
