Iloilo International Airport, also known as Iloilo Airport, Cabatuan Airport or (sometimes) Santa Barbara Airport, is located in Cabatuan, Iloilo, the Philippines and serves the entire province of Iloilo, including the capital Iloilo City (19 km away).
The airport was inaugurated on June 13th, 2007, replacing the old Iloilo Airport in Mandurriao. It is the most modern and the fourth busiest airport in the country with almost 2 million passengers a year. The airport is a hub for Cebu Pacific. Iloilo Airport offers domestic flights to all the major cities in the Philippines.
Most flights from Iloilo International Airport are to Manila and to Cebu but there are many more flights to other destinations as well, most of them by Cebu Pacific Air. Every day there are flights to 12 destinations from Iloilo International Airport. Here are the most popular destinations:
Iloilo Airport has one terminal for both domestic and international flights which is widely believed to be the most beautifully designed airport terminal in the country. The terminal consists of three sections: the first floor is for arrival and baggage claim, the second floor is for check-in only and the departure area is on the third floor.
Iloilo Airport is located about 19 km northwest from Iloilo city center.
Outside the terminal are multicabs / commuter vans which will drop you off at SM City Iloilo Mall (PHP 70). From here you can continue your journey to your destination by tricycle (motor bike), which costs PHP 10 for the first 4 km and PHP 10 for each kilometer more. There is a plan to connect the airport with the now defunct Panay Railways line.
Taxis are available at the airport but finding one which will use the meter will be difficult. The taxi fare from the airport to the city is around PHP 400 to 450.
