With over 5 million passengers a year the Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is relatively small for China but it has good connections to all major cities within the country and has flights to several international destinations: Kuala Lumpur (AirAsia), Hong Kong (Dragonair and Hong Kong Airlines) and Bangkok (China Southern).
Most flights from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport are to Shanghai and to Beijing but there are many more flights to other destinations as well, most of them by Air China. The Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is located about 30km to the southwest of the city centre of Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Taxis are widely available but public transport is limited. A taxi to the city can cost up to RMB 100. An alternative is to take the airport bus into town (RMB 20). Unfortunately it will not stop in the city center but south of it at the Aviation Hotel. Here many taxis will be waiting to bring you to the centre.
