Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or also called Caticlan Airport and Boracay Airport is located in Malay city in Aklan province. The airport is the closest of the two gateways to the popular holiday island of Boracay, the other being the farther away but bigger Kalibo International Airport.
Godofredo P. Ramos Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Godofredo P. Ramos Airport, most of these are operated by PAL Express. Many people take a flight to Manila and transfer to another flight there.
Although still small the recent upgrade of the terminal (2011) and runway (2014) has improved facilities at Boracay Airport significantly. Before the airport could only handle smaller turboprop aircraft with limited capacity, now Boracay Airport can receive jet aircraft like the populair Airbus A320. This will also allow for cheaper tickets to Boracay Airport.
Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or Boracay Airport is located in the northern tip of Panay Island, about 500 meters to the southeast of the Caticlan Jetty or about 1500 meters to the northeast of Caticlan village.
Boracay airport is one of the main gateways to Boracay Island which is pretty close by. At the airport you can get a tricycle for the five minute ride to the Caticlan Jetty Port for PHP 50. If you are short on cash it is an option to walk as it will be only 10 minutes walk to the Caticlan jetty (500 meters away). At the jetty, ferries will depart for Boracay island (PHP 50). If you are a tourist you also have to pay PHP 100 terminal fee and an environmental fee of 75.
