Miri International Airport is an airport near the city of Miri in the state of Sarawak on Malaysian Borneo. It is one of the busiest domestic airports in Malaysia with about 2.4 million passengers a year.
As recent as 2005 the airport was moved to a brand new facility. Miri Airport is located in the middle of Malaysian Borneo, close to Brunei Darussalam, which makes it an easy gateway into Malaysian Borneo.
Miri Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Miri Airport, most of these are operated by AirAsia. Many people take a flight to Kuching and transfer to another flight there.
The Miri Airport is located about 8 km south of central Miri, about 25 minutes by car.
The public bus line 28 does not stop at the airport anymore since 2014 so the only option you have is to take a taxi to your destination. Taxi prices are fixed; a trip into central Miri will cost RM 25.00
