The Kalibo International Airport is a fast-growing airport serving Kalibo city and the surrounding province of Aklan. This airport is the busiest in the Western Visayas and one of the busiest airports in the Philippines with more than 1.8 million passengers per year, most of them tourists visiting Boracay.
This airport is one of the two main gateways to this beautiful island, together with Caticlan Airport in Malay. Although the jetty port of Caticlan is almost 70km away, many people who visit Boracay choose to fly to Kalibo due to the better connections and cheaper tickets. International destinations are Taipei, Seoul, several cities in China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. Destinations within the Philippines are limited to Manila and Cebu.
Kalibo International Airport is not a large airport so there are not many flights departing here. There are only a few destinations that you can reach from Kalibo International Airport, most of these are operated by Philippines AirAsia. Many people take a flight to Manila and transfer to another flight there.
